At Purple Palm Press, we’re making books that help queer people create lasting changes in their life. We can’t rely on the societies and systems we navigate to do it for us. Instead, we turn to each other for guidance and resources. While some publishers also publish the topics we do by queer writers (thank you fellow publishers!), we are the only publishing company who exclusively publishes queer authors in topics related to self-help and personal development (personal finance, spirituality, parenting, etc).
Unit sales of self-help books have grown at a CAGR of 11% since 2013. Yet, most of self-help books are still heavily written by straight (mostly) white authors. And many of the queer authored books in these genres have a heavily political tone. While this may appeal to many LGBTQ+ folks, it doesn’t appeal to all. Our goal is to diversify the market through sharing a range of queer perspectives all with the common goal of helping queer people create positive change in their life and community.
